I have to be honest: I didn't miss California.
Two weeks at home was a little bit of a stretch(I love my parents, I do. But too much of a good thing...) Still, being in Colorado again, that was spectacular.
See, I'm one of those people who kind of likes to stretch out the Christmas season. Pretty much impossible when it's 70+ degrees outside and the flowers are all blooming like it's the middle of July. No offense to California, but I'd kind of like to enjoy some hot cocoa and wear my fuzzy socks, without having to open the windows just to make it bearable.

Why hello there. Didn't expect to see me, now did you?
It would seem that my life, for a time, has been swallowed up in school. But Thanksgiving break is on the horizon and maybe, just maybe I might get another post squeezed in here.
So, since I kind of disappeared for a couple months, I'll do a quick recap of the last...ever since school started.

We ventured out of our apartment yesterday – out into that natural disaster called California traffic. Normally we stay holed up in our little cave for the weekend, safe from civilization. But we really wanted to check out some of the beaches around here, so we packed up, gassed up, and set out for the coast. I can’t remember the last time I got to walk along the beach and dig my toes into the sand.
Sorry, did you not want to hear about my toes?

I used to joke that I would never have to get married because I already had all the kitchen stuff I could ever need, thus eliminating the need for a bridal shower (the main reason for getting married, as my young mind had it figured).
But as I stared at our blank registries this summer, I realized we were still lacking some essential hardware.
Actually, a lot of essential hardware.
